Lance Mortensen

Lance Mortensen founded Mortensen Equity to invest where he has spent a lifetime operating. Over five decades he has built and led companies across boat manufacturing and retail boat dealerships, food processing and distribution, restaurants, country club developments, luxury home building, multi-family rental properties, large-scale broadband network technology, aviation properties and aircraft leasing, satellite space and defense, and venture capital — taking two of those companies public along the way.

His career began in real estate, where he built and sold some of the country's most exclusive private residential communities, and expanded into aviation with the assembly of what is now the largest fleet of Cessna Citation CJ3s in the world, serving both private and charter markets.

Over the last decade Lance became an early conviction investor in space and defense, taking anchor positions in companies building the infrastructure for the next era of orbital economics. He is now leading the firm's push into commercial human spaceflight, including a partnership with SpaceX on a launch mission that will serve as the first step toward a chartered orbital travel platform.

He operates from Jackson, Wyoming, and invests with the conviction of someone who has built, sold, flown, and financed the assets he backs.
